This is an advertisement in The Century magazine from 1894 from Spaulding & Company Inc. for their sterling flatware. They claim addresses in Paris and Chicago.

  1. I have a silver letter opener that I found in a desk drawer. It's in a pouch marked Spaulding & Company Chicago, Illinois. What do you know about Spaulding & Co.? I'm from Chicago. The ad in Century Magazine says it was at the corner of State & Jackson. I don't recall it being there, must be before my time. More than 55 years ago.
